I have a cj7 with an AMC 401-AMC Turbo 400-Dana 20 Transfer case.(its out of several Wagoneers from around 77-79) In between the Trans/TC there is after market adapter by Advance which replaces the factory adapter. The shaft that comes out of the Trans has a gear on it with 15 spline inside and 26 teeth on the outside. This meshes the adapter to the TC. The factory number of the original piece is 946785. It also has a stamp on it with N45 18 8 40. That gear is trashed and NO ONE seems to have one. The factory number is obsolete, Advance doesn't carry it(they say use your original). 25 calls to junk yards around the nation have produced nothing.

So, does anyone have any leads I could chase? The thought of cruising junkyards hoping to find a wagoneer with this engine/trans/tc is overwhelming.

Thanks in advance

Hugh

You may want to check with Geoff with San Antonio Jeep Exclusive. He wheels and deals alot of used parts from the club. His # is on the site in the "Our Jeeps" section.

I ended up finding one in California. JW's Jeep salvage yard. They have everything.
