| Well I'll start from the begining. it all started sunday morning when i loading up to go fishing at 5 am sun morning. I went out my radio was stolen from me jeep. I HATE thiefs!!! the head unit doesn't bother me but the damn harnes adapter for the radio is $100 a piece and this is the second time they have stole it from the jeep. So after a bad day of fishing thanks to the storm in the gulf messing up the tides and water temp. i come home to find the a/c in the house is not working. Monday morning i wake up to my 90 degree house. i call my landlord to report it on thier emergency line. 10 min later the a/c guy comes out and tells me that i need a new fan motor, but he can't get one unitll the next morning. so after he leaves i go to get something to eat and my jeep starts making this loud popping sound when i turn, at first i thought it was a ball joint or a u joint. but then it started popping from further back in the drive train. so my jeep is out of commission. so that was my weekend. just thought i would share it. if anybody has any ideas about the popping, please feel free to share i'm going to do some explorative surgery on the jeep to find out what the hell is broke . More to follow. |

| Great Luck....
Is it coming from the rear end? Pull the cover, drain, look for chunks, check you teeth especially the spider gears. They are the ones that will pop when turning. |

| I'm going to pull the covers off the diffs tomorrow after work. I really hope it's the spider gears and not the axle splines. i would much rather just upgrade to a locker than have to replace the whole rear axle and lsd. |

| Update: I took the covers off, and was happy to see that it's just the spider gears. they are chewed up pretty bad. I'll upload a pic as soon as i get the chance. so it looks like i'm goin to be replacing the spider gears probubly sometime next week. look for the inst party thread. Oh and on a side note i found out i have 4:10 gears. I know it sounds wierd but all this time i thought i had 3:73's. and my a/c is on and working like it suppossed to. Raul and Tyler look for my text next week sometime. it's going to be in the middle of the week. I can't stand to be without a vehichle. |

| haven't decided yet on the locker but i'm really headed that direction. right now though it's more of a money issue. ( as is always the case) I wasn't expecting to get a locker right now so i don't exactly have enough saved up. but i'm going to see what i can squeeze out of the funds. if all else fails then i'm just going to replace the spiders. i have to see what i have left after taking care of all the bills tomorrow. |

| The lockright is an easy install. The Detroit tru-trac, you will need to set your rear gears. I am guessing you have experience with that. May want to have a master install kit handy. Now would be a great time to go ahead and replace the bearings and all since it will be out. |
