| Love my Toyo Open Country M/T's. The Side wall is stiff enough for our 4 door, and they have great reviews. 10 Ply sidewall thickness make them pretty much bomb proof. |

| A lot of people rag on these as trail/mud/snow tires, but I have BFG All-Terrain T/A KO's. I've run them on two trucks, and my Jeep and I love them. If your rig is a DD with occasional wheeling trip, then I don't think you can do better than these.
If you're looking at something that looks sick and performs well in mud and rocks, I'd look at the Toyo Open Country M/T's, or Nitto Trail Grapplers. I've also heard some good things about the new General Grabbers https://www.tirebuyer.com/tirepreviews/general_grabber_rl_1000x1000.jpg.
Here is a shot of them on a JK. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc37/dougnpj/2009-11-29102556.jpg
That's three to chew on. Good luck in your choice. |

| I recently went with the Cooper Discover STT's in a 35". They have the same contact pattern as the Toyo's but on the Cooper website and out on some of the other forums, sense they are supposed to be truck tires (F-250, 2500+ range), guys with jeeps that have run them have claimed to get as much as 75k out of them. True or not I don't know, but they are aggressive and certainly durable. |

| I had a set of the Toyo open country m/t's on my 2003 Ram 3500 dually 4X4 and had about 50,000 on them and pulled alot they are 10ply tires and take some getting use to when you goto move over they move no side wall sway and are very good in mud and sand that we have down here in south Bexar Co. we pulled a 26' dove tail trailer with Lil David's race car on it every other weekend for three years and they also work rear well on wet boat ramps. Nedless to say I loved mine |

I had the Cooper Discoverer STTs 35x12.5x17s.....only problem with them was that they are a soft tire and chunked pretty easy. I went with the Goodyear MTR/Ks and they work great on the road and off-road! |

| I'm running Firestone Destination M/Ts in the 315/70r17 flavor. I got a great price on them and they have 20k miles with more than 50% tread left. I have no complaints. They are pretty decent in rain for an MT and not too loud. _________________ 08 4 door....BANANAMAN yellow round tires.... some stuff added.... more stuff wanted.... even more stuff needed /I _I_,[____], L-I_I_I -OIIIIIIO- ()_)....()_) ... | The Toyo open country were looking pretty damn good until I found that they weigh 83lbs each (WTF?). That's about 6lbs heavier than the heaviest 35 I had found so far....for a dedicated trail truck I wouldn't care but for a DD that's gonna suck and there's no way it won't affect performance.

| I was helping someone look for tires and I was surprised to find out how well the Hankook MT's fared in a recent test.
Marcus at RCO has been doing some heavy tire research lately as he's ready to replace his shoes. He looked very hard at the Hankooks but I think they have a slight backorder of a few weeks. |

It's not bad I still around 15 mpg with my Toyos. No worse that any other 35's. The few extra pounds is not going to hurt your MPG, it's your brakes that are going to to crap fast._________________ Life is too short to spend it with idiots! 3in Full Traction Premium Plus, Bilstien 5100 shocks, Bilstien 5100 steering stabilizer, 35x12.50x17 Toyo open country M/T, AEV Wheels, Lightforce 170, Rugged Ridge light bar, BesTop bikini top & duster, Superchip Programmer, Superior 5.13's and axle tube seals, Poison Spyder diff covers, Xenon H.I.D. headlights & driving lights. |

I like playing the devil's advocate. If you are considering an 83lb tire, why not just get a 37" tire. BFG KM2 = 70 lbs Goodyear MT/R = 74 lbs
I found it funny/curious that the KM2 is heavier in the 35 but lighter in the 37 when compared to the MT/R with Kevlar. I liked the Toyos but that weight would kill my stock carrier so its off the table until I get a new rear bumper/carrier. |

| For daily driver duty I don't think there is a better behaved tire than the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO. The 315/70R17 is a 35" class tire that ways 64 lbs. Mine are no noisier than the stock duelers they replaced.
I know it's not the most bad-a$$ looking tire, and people bash it for not being an M/T, but I've run these on two trucks and my Jeep and love it. They last forever too. The set I ran on my 98 Ram had 40k on them and half their tread left when I traded it. |

Yeah, I wasn't even thinking about the carrier....anyway you slice it...83 lbs is insane. I'd prefer to stay in the mid 60s for a 35. Only downside to the 37s is the extra cost. |
