| MY Dad is going to change his diff fluid, anyone know what the preferred fluid and weight is? For the JK, I used Royal Purple 75W90. Also, anyone know how much to add? For the JK I used 3 quarts (2 in front, 1 in back I think). I thought I'd ask here before searching the web...
Thanks in advance, Art |

| Royal purple will pretty much cover it unless you are worried about extended warranty then you have to go with a "factory" approved fluid For The factory _________________ Life is too short to spend it with idiots! 3in Full Traction Premium Plus, Bilstien 5100 shocks, Bilstien 5100 steering stabilizer, 35x12.50x17 Toyo open country M/T, AEV Wheels, Lightforce 170, Rugged Ridge light bar, BesTop bikini top & duster, Superchip Programmer, Superior 5.13's and axle tube seals, Poison Spyder diff covers, Xenon H.I.D. headlights & driving lights. |

| 75W-90 works, I use it. Recommended by Jeep: 80W-90 all around or synthetic 75W-140 in the rear for trailer tow.
Dana 30 2.5 pints = 1.25 quarts
Dana 35 3.50 pints = 1.75 quarts Trac-Lok differentials require 4 oz of friction modifier
Dana 44: 4.0 pints = 2 quarts Trac-Lok differentials require 4 oz of friction modifier

Thanks for the info. He has a Rubi (Dana 44) but with aftermarket diff covers (don't remember what brand), so I guess the capacity could be off some. Also, I thought the Royal Purple synthetic includes the modifier needed?? |

| Yes it does, that's why I said royal purple would cover it just fill it up until the drips from the fill hole. Then your good. _________________ Life is too short to spend it with idiots! 3in Full Traction Premium Plus, Bilstien 5100 shocks, Bilstien 5100 steering stabilizer, 35x12.50x17 Toyo open country M/T, AEV Wheels, Lightforce 170, Rugged Ridge light bar, BesTop bikini top & duster, Superchip Programmer, Superior 5.13's and axle tube seals, Poison Spyder diff covers, Xenon H.I.D. headlights & driving lights. |
