PostSubject: San Antonio on 9/10/2010   Thu 02 Sep 2010, 5:47 am

We will be in San Antonio 9/10 weekend. Where is a good and fun place to watch the cowboy game on Sunday? We will be staying close to the river walk.
On Monday we are headed on down to South Padre for a week. I need some tips on driving on the beach. The do’s and don’ts. My 07 Rubicon is stock.
Thanks for your help.

I've been to this place a few times and I liked it.

Tex's Riverwalk Sports Bar
200 S. Alamo, San Antonio TX 78205; Tel. 210.222.1400
The Hilton Palacio del Rio Hotel houses the best Texas-style sports bar on the River Walk. Several TVs are spread throughout the bar so customers never miss a second of the game while enjoying a cold beer and one of the classic Texas appetizers. Memorabilia from the San Antonio Spurs decorates the bar that also offers a full menu and an outside patio right on the River Walk. On Friday and Saturday nights local San Antonio bands play at Tex's Riverwalk Sports Bar for the 30 and over crowd. The sports bar is a great place to catch a game for locals and tourists alike.

Driving on the beach, just put it in 4H, and remember that momentum is your friend. I have tried to get stuck, but with a Jeep it is not easy.
Bring a shovel just in case. I assume you have a tow strap, if not, i would get one. But chances are they will ask you to pull other vehicles out.

Hope that helped. cheers2

Also, welcome to the forum.

like dutchboy said man a rubicon getting stuck on the beach down here is almost imposible to do. You almost literally have to try, be foolish while trying, and then actually dig your self into a spot before that would happen. 4hi and your golden, wont even need your lockers more than likely.

Take a bucket with you. If you start to spin, just go get some H2O from the ocean and pour some around your tires. That makes the sand hard.

Had no problems driving on the beach. The problem is going to be getting the sand out of the jeep. Had a great time in SPI until the rain came.
