the cobra 29 is time tested and works well for what you need it for.

I have the 75WXST, I like the fact that it is small and the controls are at the microphone. I got it for $90 on Ebay.

In my TJ with the 75 I mounted the radio box itself behind the glove box next to the fuse box. Lots of boxes. Not sure if that applies to the JK.

Ok borrowed runda's meter and dialed in my antenna but no one answer's me and I only hear chatter when my jeep isnt running.
When it is running all I get is a loud feedback noise.
Any suggestions?

I would run the power straight to the battery.... also ensure that your ground is solid.

Ensure that the mount is grounded to the frame. Don't count on hinges body mts. Etc.
