So, my son is going to move to Austin this month to attend college. He and a friend are getting an apartment. I'm just wanted to check to make sure the apartment is not in a "bad" area.

Now did he pick that apartment complex because of the location or because there is a brewery right behind it?

From my memory, it's not the greatest place but it's not in the middle of a warzone. He should be okay there. The "college-kid apartments" part of town is bordered by I-35 East Riverside Dr Grove Blvd and Oltorf. The apartments you put may be a better idea because cars are vandalized and broken into constantly in the college apartment areas. Another area is Far West Blvd but the price goes up a little out there and it may be further from his college.
