PostSubject: Hello From Corpus Christi   Tue 27 Jul 2010, 9:24 pm

Hello everyone, new to the forum and just wanted to say hi. We would love to convoy to PINS (Padre Island National Seashore) for those of you who do not live down here, but unfortunatly I have to work Friday and Saturday. My rig is a 1979 CJ7 with an AMC 360. I worried about reliability when going down the island where people were scarce, and towing bills are in the thousands of dollars. Got the jeep and bought a winch. Worried about where to anchor winch so I bought a pull pal. Did not have any place to store a pull pal so I bought an overhead rack. Well the rack has 4 mounts for lights, so I bought lightforce lights. Begin to worry about the battery so I installed a dual battery system. Worried about charging the batteries do I installed a GM CS-144 style 150 amp alternator. Figured none of this would do me any good if I had a flat, so I installed a York AC compressor for onboard air. Worried about being in front of someone with offroad lights so I installed a self dimming / compass/ temp mirror. Decided the mechanical fan needed to be replaced with a Taurus Hi output electric fan to keep everything cool. Whew! Does this addiction ever end?

Glenn

Welcome and congratulations on having the stamina and good taste to own one of the greatest 4wd vehicles to ever roll off the assembly line. Unfortunately, no it doesn't end, but eventually you will have to look harder to find things to add.

If you cant make to the PINS run, you are more than welcome to come to any of the CC chapter meetings.

I don't see your problem with this addiction, your problem is that you worry too much. However, nothing an hour on Quadratec.com or 4wheelparts.com cannot fix.
But seeing a shrink might be cheaper.

Welcome to the forum.

We will be on the beach until late Friday or might have an after party at the Comfort Inn pool in Corpus Christi.
Come join us for a few drinks after work.

Renee has her cell number listed in the PINS Convoy thread, or you can reach me at 210-884-0058
