PostSubject: weird s**t happening with Jonsjeep   Tue 08 Jun 2010, 11:59 pm

My problem is intermittent at best but here is what happens. I will be driving and my electronics go weird. The windshield wiper comes up about 5 inches and stops. Immediately after, the jeep starts sputtering like it wants to die out. It did die out once last thursday. good thing i was turning at the time so i just went in to the grass cuz the power steering locked up. Put it back in park and it started right back up. Any ideas on what kind of gremlin i have?

Mine did that sort of stuff once- loose battery cable. Check those cables, and also check the ground strap.

I'm leaning towards battery too. My JK did like that (including all lights coming on, stereo coming on/off on its own, etc. and of course just flat-out dieing in the middle of the road) when the battery was dead.

check to see if the bolt on the battery tray isn't loose if the cable are tight, the one that holds the battery to the tray..
I had a similar problem on my dodge truck and that solved the problem.

I'm thinking battery as well (connection, corrsion, etc.) Experienced similar symptoms, AAA jumped me and I went and bought a yellow top. No issues since.
