| Having Problems with the hood lifting while driving down the highway? Mine and rednecks bounce up and down on windy days while driving at highway speeds! Here is a way to reduce some of the bounce! Remove the under hood spring! This makes that 3 in bounce more like a 1/2 ince bounce. _________________ If you can't play with the big dogs then get off the porch! | Mr.RonGilbert wrote: | | It's like when you hear a fire truck with it's sirens full blast.... you just have to take a look at what is getting flamed..... |

| I bought some heavy duty zip tires yesterday at Lowes, and will try that first. I know Daystar sells some hood latches that is supposed to fix this problem. |

| Daystar Hood Wranglers for 07-08 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK Stop the Flutter!
The factory hood latches on the Jeep Wrangler JK allow an alarming amount of hood movement even at moderate speeds. Daystar Hood Wranglers upgrade the soft rubber on the factory latches with a heavy-duty polyurethane material that holds the hood securely in place.
Installation is simple and maintains the factory look. No more shakes, no more flutter, and better peace of mind! » Click here for details $24.99 #16053.510 » Add to cart |

| hmm that's odd maybe there is another contributing factor. From all I've heard the new latches seem to work well? I started with zip ties and now the 09's haven't had many problems here in windy Corpus |

| Yep...I too installed the new '09 latches from the dealer and still get hood hop on the hwy - will admit it is much less than it was but it still happens. It's nothing to be concerned with though at this level, it doesn't raise as much as it did before so for $9...I consider it a done deal and I'm satisfied with it.
If it's get's worse...the next step is just to remove the spring as Jennie noted above. |

| I don't have any hood bounce ever unless a bigrig passes me going the other way on a 2 lane. Not sure if you guys have the under hood insulation, but I do, and that may cut down on the bounce considerable. I drive pretty fast too. _________________ FAIL TO PLAN.....IS A PLAN TO FAIL.
