Scary stuff. looked like he may have hit the gas instead of the brake by mistake and his approach angle was obviously off. glad no one was seriosly hurt. was that anyone we know?

Damn...1st I've heard of it, but glad everyone was OK!

I don't know who they were or what all was involved before hand, but it just makes me glad I have friends/SPOTTERS that try and keep us out of trouble like that.

Reminds me of the 1st (or one of) outtings for me at Spring Creek. All I can say is God must have put a finger on my rear bumper to stop me from going head over on the big hill. Why did it happen: NEWBIE mistakes, just followed another down the hill WITHOUT looking or knowing the obsticle before hand...made Jen (who was downhill) drop her camera and run

Downhills still gets my blood pressure up!

1. Although it's tight on some of those ridges, the driver could have still squared up.

2. If he couldn't square up, he should have skipped the obstacle altogether.

3. His spotters, errr I mean spectators, are special needs kids.

4. Short wheel base vehicles do not fare well going down steep grades when the line isn't close to perfect and the driver's a spaz.

5. I'm glad the driver was OK, too bad his wife is going to break a bat off in his ass for being stupid.

Seriously, the interior does not look like my 04 TJ nor does it look like my 07 JK. I just don't remember my TJ having that much plastic, and as mentioned it does not look like the JK.

So big boys, edjameducate me!

It's a TJ, Stacy, an '03 to an '06.

And I agree with everything Jody said. I don't know if it were me if I would've taken it down, but it looks more like he just didn't do it right rather than it couldn't be done. I mean, I know that sounds stupid, but it looks like he didn't square up properly and then thought "Screw it" and punched the gas or something. I wish the video taken from the top would've started earlier, but based on what you can see right at first there doesn't seem to be any reason to do it like he did. It looks like it could be negotiated safely (though WTF on the gas pedal, I still don't get it), or if not, figure something else out. He's got a manual, too, a 6-speed probably, so why not put it in 1st gear in 4LO and inch your way down if you think you've got the right line? Based on the tracks and the fact that some were up at the top and some were down, others had negotiated it properly...

Also, see the way that top crushed down like it was no big deal? That's why George is building me a cage. On or off pavement, I'd rather not get so friendly with my A-pillars.

Also, I really wish I knew what group that was, because honestly I can't ever see myself being comfortable running with them in general, byt especially if they're ever supposed to be spotting me...

I don't think he punched it Deacon. Most likely he was nervous about trying the whole thing because of the angle he was at and accidentally dumped the clutch instead of easing it out.
