Harbor freight has several different kinds. The small red ones are loud, but high pitched. A set of regular truck horns sound great, but you need an air tank to feed them. Then you have to have a compressor to keep up. The small compressors we use aren't capable of continuous duty service. The trick set up is to mount an old A/C compressor running off a belt with pressure switches to cut in and out the clutch. That way you have unlimited air for horns, airing up, tools, etc.

JC Whitney also had a pretty good selection of horns.

I hope this helps...I am really trying to answer your questions

I helped a buddy, and there really is a lot to it,,, unless you are doing air for something else,

I understand the HF ones are high,,, but the length of the horn dictates it's pitch. I understand you can and length via PVC or whatever and it will lower the pitch. even seen where someone bough t2, and only used the 2 long horns, (kits are only a few bucks)

Check JC Whitney, and look in the motorcycles section- it is pretty common for motorcycles to use them in order to make sure they get the cager's attention. And the motorcycle setups are complete with necessary (compact) compressors.

Yep...Steve-O pretty much nailed it! That's what I ended up putting into my Heep...a motorcycle compact compressor twin air horn. 139Db blast! Cool part is it fits right in the area where the factory horn is now in the JK. Just add a relay and your good to go. I got the black ABS version...we likes it very muuuch...so much better than the wimpy JK stock horn!

Here's a site that sells them and a description:

I could have used this yesterday when some damn BMW owner ignored the stop sign and sped right in front of me. I swear its a requirement to be a prick in order to drive a BMW. Whats the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? On the porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

I got a loud ass horn on my jeep and it is definitly a way to say GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY.

I used it down in South Padre Island, and it sure was an eye opener.

Manny can hook you up with an affordable kit, VAIR compressor, tank, pneumatic switch, wiring harness, everything you need. I cleaned out my inbox or I'd post what he quoted me on JKO, but it was just under $300 which is excellent for a quality airhorn kit.
