Fun! What size tires are you targeting? I seem to recall 35's, but that seems like a helluvalot of beef for 35's...

Whatever comes my way i guess. I don't want to run anything smaller than a 35s. Just trying to get it rolling so I not going to be picky. I've been hunting on craigsL!

First sunday off of work in a long time...It was also a nice day outside so i decided to take advantage.

Got rid of some rust and threw down some primer on the frame...

Did the same for the D60

Also started working on some sheet metal to clean up the rear of the cab.

And a mock up shot...

One more piece of sheet metal for the floor and the tub will be done. Then its on to the fun stuff!

Looks great!!I love the idea you had for the axles, we put Marshalls on the same roller (furniture mover) that you did but we didn't build it up, what a great idea you had, wish we would have thought of that!

Thanks, had to do somethin because moving that hunk around by yourself is no fun! I also wanted to get the axle off the ground so I dont have to bend over as much. It will also come in handy for building the suspension at fully compressed or full bump.

(warning... I'm going bust your balls a little)

So you chopped the stock frame. build a custom, extended frame to do a jeep truck to fit your bike in the back. Then you cut the frame back down to stock length ? so, uh, what's the plan now ? you just gonna flat bed it like a mini truggy ?

Very Happy I was waiting for this! I plan to add a little length back to the frame. Im going to cap the ends of the main rails. Then I'll continue the main rails back, but kicked in 6-8 inches. Here is a quick photoshop to give you an idea...
***WARNING PLEASE EXCUSE POOR PHOTO SHOP SKILLS***

This will give me more clearance for shocks(maybe coilovers/airshocks one day Very Happy ) and this will also let me mount the coil buckets either flush with or above the top of the frame rails. The idea is to keep it low while running 4 inch lift springs. This should allow for plenty of down travel instead of running shorter springs.

I wish i could keep up with Marshall by my self! His jeeps gonna turn out real nice. I have had some paying projects come my way so i haven't done much. Started bending some tube for the bed...you can see it under the jeep on the ground. Just today i picked up 2 35 pro crap a/t tires for 30 a pop with about 30% tread. I was really needing these for mock up.

Couple of steps forward...and a few more back... oh well. I have changed my mind about my bed and frame design so many times and after many alterations i finally said GET OUT!!!!

I was originally going for that stock frame look but it just wasn't quite what i wanted. I will end up just using 1.75 DOM for both frame rails and tube bed. I'll save this for another day.

Trying to get it rolling....so i didnt a little truss work. I think it will do. 1.75 Tube and 1/2" Bar between for mounting brackets to.

Coil buckets are just sitting there but the gussets they are sitting on will be knotched level on the ends so they sit right.

Those are Lower CA brackets on top just to give you an idea of where the uppers will sit. Here is the Lower on the tube...
