I'm shooting for something in the middle actually. The bed may slightly over hang for now running 35s on the street, but that's for now. Once it's done i'll start thinking about 40s? It should be close enough to zero...not sure on the exact wheelbase either so we shall see.

Very cool. I think the ultimate question is: are you going to wheel it? Smile

Hah! Am I Going to wheel it? I Cant Wait!!!! Yes Fish Plates have been cut but my CO2 bottle on the welder ran out which stopped all foward progress. That means i gotta take some time out of my day on wed to get it filled. Oh well, as for the cage...i have a few ideas in my head. already picked up 5 sticks of 1 3/4" tube so i'll be replacing all the stock tube. I will use some tube clamps to run some removeable cage tie ins from the cab to the bed. The plan is to still use a hard top.

That bender looks puuuuurty...

And what's with the raised bed frame? Why not keep it straight out? I'm curious to see how it comes out.

Actually TheBigOnion might, for his 2000 TJ. I don't remember if he has a 35 or 44 back there. I'd assume 35. Does it have the C-clip eliminators on it as well? That'd be a helluva way for him to get an axle that's plenty strong for his current build.

Well the truck frame was simple. Any Frame rises over the rear alxe for clearing suspension. Usually it is more of a gradual rise. Look at your frame...then look at the frame of any pick up.... If the frame came straight back it would make the jeep sit very tall. Trying to keep it low for now.

As for the Super 35...I will have to check on the C clip. Not sure the Eliminator kit was available when i purchased it. Yukon axles and 4.56 gears with a Detroit is whats in it.

Worked on some fish plates today...

Shots of the frame with axle NOT centered...

made new coil buckets and tacked them into place just for the hell of it. This is what it would like like with the axle all the way back. This will NOT likely be my WB as I would like to move the rear axle foward some. I think i put the tape down and measured 135" WB in these shots!

Way too long IMO, but i just had to see what it looked like. This is also sitting on 4 inch lift springs. I would like to find some 2 inch springs maybe??? I think once the weight of the bed is on there it will settle the springs a bit more as well.

Looks very cool. You could always cut the frame down and keep the axle far enough back to at least get kinda close to zero departure angle, enough to be awesome anyway Smile

So you replaced the Superior shafts with some from Yukon? Did the Superiors break? Or is it more of a DIY version of the S35?

Oh yeah, btw, is that the stock diff cover that's painted like the Texas flag? That's just damn nice.

Actually this is how my kit came. This was in 2005 or 2006 when it was installed. Never had any breaks or problems at all. Changed the diff fluid out regularly but other than that...never touched it. I have never ran larger than 33s either. Well there was this one time... Very Happy

Sorry...it's been an interesting month. Had some other non jeep projects come up that had to get done first. Been running around collecting tools and parts as well. Haven't done much fab work...actually cut the frame and bumper off. Decided i wanted to jeep to sit lower so i had to hack it off. I managed to grab a few cell phone pics...

I got tired of working on the ground so i threw together a table out of some scrap behind the garage and bought some locking caster from HF for 1.50 each.

Needed help moving the D60 around by my self so i made these...

Now i can get to suspension mock up...

New to me H2s and a shot of the shortened frame...

Now that i have all the sheet metal i need, i can finish the tub off. I would like to get that done before i do anything else.

Better shot of the H2 wheel....with no modification it cleared the hub.

One more shot of the jeep from the rear gives an idea of the width.

And another angle of my table. The lower section on the left is for my chop saw which sits the cutting deck height the same as the table.
