The folks went to Dallas this weekend, and he forgot to send em...

Talked to last night, He says he got the Jeep from a guy that works for him. seems the guy bought it for a project, and got the engine re-built, and the tub replaced, then lost interest.

He said that the Jeep came from up north and had some rust on the rear sections the frame rails (about the last couple of feet on the outside of both rails.) He pulled the body and used a tiger-paw disk to clean everything up, then primed everyting before re-plating the entire rear stub with 1/4 in plate.

As far as rust, I know there's not any on the body, as its 99% fiberglass. Its not gutted or beat up. The trails on his hunting club are like friggin city bike trails. Honestly, some of the older guys ride around that place in golf carts.

As far as the back, Its all one piece (no tailgate) and has the back seat, and it lookes new. Its totally complete. It kinda pisses me off that I dont have pics to show you guys. He's supposed to be getting me some this afternoon.

I really wish I had the money right now. In a month or two I can swing it, and I'm actually looking for a CJ7 to run around in during the sunny months.

But really it’s hard to tell what condition it's in with no pics, especially since it’s been a hunting rig and the fact that it is in northeast Texas (rust). How complete is it? Was it gutted for racks, or is it still stock in the back?

Based on the description, it sounds like it should be in pretty good shape. Looking forward to pics Smile

My dad is thinking about selling his white '80 CJ7.

Here's what I know about it....

It has the larger in-line 6 cyl. (recently rebuilt) and a 5 spd manual tranny. has a fiberglass tub, new soft top and doors, new mesh top. almost brand new seats, I think they're Besttop. new center console from quadratec. Skyjacker 3" lift springs and shackles. I think it's sitting on 30" BFG a/t's. All new bushings: body, steering, suspension... New fuel pump/sending unit, aftermarket cd/radio, two piece soft doors, and full hard doors.
He's asking $4000 obo.

Here's the only thing, It's in NE Texas. (He lives about 45 min from Barnwell Mtn, Since most here know where thats at...)
So if someone wanted it, we'd have to go get it. Honestly, If I had the money, I'd buy it myself. He bought it some time back to have something to drive to the hunting club and to his stand. (He dosen't wheel, although I think he's coming to TSJM if its still in Gilmer) He hates four-wheelers and liked the idea of a heated vehicle he could drive on the lease and on the road.

Now he has an 09 JK, and no need for the CJ. (read: mom wants her kitchen remodeled! lol)
