yea, it would, just a piece of 1.5 id tubing cut in half, a big ass u bolt, and a piece of strap welded across for the mirrior to bolt to, a welder and a 4 in grinder should be about all you need for tools...........i says go for it, and post a write up about it_________________ ITS HIP TO BE SQUARE [embed-flash(width,height)] |

| I think if it were me I'd want to drill and tap the roll cage for a bolt to bolt it down (rather than a hose clamp) because I'd need to be able to attach and remove it easily, as it would be impossible to use with the doors on, it seems like. |

| With the hose clamps you can just loosen them and slide them down or up and still be able to put the doors on |

| the hose clamps would let it spin, and swivel around the roll cage if you hit a tree or something, if it was bolted on it would probably just snap off
if i was building it for real i would want to use these http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/OD-Tube-Clamp_p_1474.html
but it would be mucho dinero _________________ ITS HIP TO BE SQUARE [embed-flash(width,height)] |

| Na I aint going to solid mount these for 2 reason. 1. if I need to put the windows on my jeep for some reason I want to be able to spin or quickly take them off so they dont interfer. 2. If I do hit a tree, rock, ect with one they will just break the hose clamp and maybe bend a little instead of folding over or breaking completly off _________________ Just Empty Every Pocket. . . .I'm broke!!! | How about going to a spring shop and getting (leaf spring) U-bolts made to the proper dimensions*. They can use whatever diameter rod you want and even bend them in a rectangle or a circle. Only buying 2 would be cheap. Stainless muffler clamps could fasten them to the cage. Not as trick as what you found George, but it would be cheaper. Just an idea... |

| It looks like there may be some worthwhile options here, too:
http://www.joesracing.com/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=458
I'm specifically interested in the brackets, as I already have 6" round convex mirrors. I'm thinking they could be clamped to the A-B spreader and hang down at a shallow angle to give decent mirror coverage without sticking out too far, both for trail riding and highway cruising.
Either that or a pair of these (got $$$$?) to keep it tucked in tight. |

| ill be looking into some kinda mirror like that.. on the passenger side of my project after i build a cage.. its funny this post hit right as i was thinkin that.. instead of a saddle plate i would probably take them U-bolts and thread the nuts on. then bend em at a 90, then weld the nut on the cage .. so u can push the mirror out and pull it in.. just set it where the nut gets tight where u like the mirror... |
