| Ahoy Shipmates! I've been bouncing around the web here for a few months, and am learning quite a bit about "JEEP". Lotsa good info! Wanted to intro myself, and get to know you folks on here. I 'm Retired Navy and Retired from the Civilian Sector as well. So, I'm Retired/Retired. I bought my first Jeep in July last year, an '09 Wrangler X 2-Dr. I've done several mods to it already, so I can make it unique, and not get it mixed up in the parking lots or on the trails. I've already seen quite a few Yellow JK's out there, and so far my mods are working for me! Here's my newest one I had done today: Santa was pretty good to me this past year, and threw some extra Jeep-Mod funding my way. I used it to swap out my Stock Wheels with the Black Rock Viper 900's. Sorry about the Garage Pics, but it's pouring rain out today, and I just had these put on a few hours ago. The wrong Center Caps were shipped (Tungsten color...), and the Black ones have been reordered and will be here next week. They only stick out an additional two inches, and don't look so "Stuck Under the Fender", like the Stock Wheels did. You can see a couple of inches of the tires outside of the fender here: Cheers! How about this..... if you want a Tire Cover with your New Avatar, check out this guy:
Custom Tire Covers (Link)
If you email him a pic of your Avatar, as large as you can get it (largest pixel size, that is...), he can make you a Cover to fit your Spare. Just include the Tires Dimensions as well, i.e., 32" High, 10.5" Wide, etc.... He charged me $119 to make the Blackbeard Pirate Cover, and the other was his Stock Design for $59. VERY WELL MADE!!! He'll send you a Proof via email, to see how you like it, and you can make changes to it as you like.
The Covers come with a Sewn-In Rope to tie off the bottom of the cover, and includes two Grommets at the base, to add a Lock to keep your cover from being ripped off. I use a Pistol Cable Lock, which easily flexes, so I can keep the cable taut, and it doesn't bang against my bumper.
COOL Avatar, BTW!
Best of Luck!
Cheers!

| Sweet! Thanks. I just wish I could go with a tire cover on the jeep, but I turned my spare tire center cap into my third brake light. I may have him do one for my Bronco, though. About the Avatar, I Got tired of Looking at Captain Morgan, So I went with this one. GCPP (Twylla) said I couldnt use the one I wanted to... |
