pretty much everyone is spread out |
That was the same thing we had last year. We partied with everybody at the pool until the early hours. There will be a place where we'll all hang out and get fed and drunk (not sure what order) Hopefully somewhere with a pool, that'll be as close of a shower the campers will get |

This is a pretty important question for me. Does anyone know the answer? I'd like to know whether camping means going without toilets and showers |

Or a hardcore wheeling trip that ends up on the beach at night? Or just a chance to sun yourself on a beach towel in the company of other people who drove a Jeep there? Or some other possibility?
I honestly have no idea. |
It is mostly hanging out at the beach, drinking beer, swimming, fishing and driving your rig until you get stuck. Rescueing other dumb ass vehicles that have no business being on the beach. Last year we had to rescue two Germans in a rental car at about the 25 mile mark on PINS. |

Are there any fees or non-nasty facilities available to beach campers? I've never been out there before and have no idea what it's like. Sitting around a camp fire on the beach sipping cold beer sounds damn near perfect.
PS I assume this is the Fisherman's Motel you're referring to, right? If it comes down to a hotel stay, I'm wondering if there might not be other single individuals such as myself who might want to share a room, though at 6'6" I'm pretty much commandeering a queen bed to myself regardless. |
there is one guy in the Waco chapter who might be going by him self, Ill mention it to him and see what he says |

Ron, you can just sleep in your winnabago/carhauler thingy. Shouldn't cost you but gas and booze money. |
Ya it will be in the Taj Majal for sure..... just gotta decide. June was a busy month, July is going to be worse and August is shaping up to be a Byotch too... Might be good reason to pack up and go actually! |
Just do it. Could be the last big trip until next summer. |

| In that case I think I should be OK. I think my tent is pretty good. Unless something changes my plans I should be there. Is there a burn ban or can we have a beach fire? I have some wood I brought back from my ranch trip that I can bring down. Its only a small amount of mesquite but better than nothing. |

Unless you have the cheapest tent known to man, it shouldn't be a problem. =)
My "little backpacking tent" (an inexpensive one-man mountainsmith tent) has survived near-tropical-storm conditions. My slightly better two-man tent has survived wind and hail storms w/o issue.
