I had the opportunity to REALLY test out my XRC10 winch over the holiday weekend. I was out at a friend's place in Pattison, TX. His dad keeps his RV/motorhome vehicle out there. It had SUNK into mud due ot the rains over the past week + the fact that they tried to drive it out prematurely and sunk the rear wheels just about down to the axle. We decided, what the heck....let's try the winch and see if it'll pull it out.

They had dug ruts behind the back tires so we tried pulling it backwards ...

"Finger tight is sufficient for this particular operation."

Or we could skip right to the good stuff: wrap the tow strap around the axle and give it some gas.

I'm building a new rear tire carrier, and don't have access to a drill press right now. Is there anyone on the south or southeast side of San Antonio that has one I could use? The hobbyshop here on base has one, but are closed until Jan. 5th and I don't want to wait that long. I only need to drill two pieces of 3/16", 2" square tube with a hole saw (I have the bit, just not the press), and four 1/2" holes in some 1/4" flat bar. Any help would be great.
