I havnt TOTALLY checked the forums for a write up on here BUT I dare say ALL the bushings on my Jeep need to be replaced. I have about an inch to an inch and a half of play on my front and rear control arms that I see and whatever else I cant see.

Here is my question...How difficult is it to replace these bushings? Im pretty damn good with tools and know enough to fix things myself. Can I do this job at home? Do I need any special tools i.e. a press of some kind? Should I just take it in ...

After painting my new (to me) half doors and hanging them on the Jeep I noticed that the paint on the doors was "blacker" than the paint on the jeep. The paint was matched via the paint code and was PPG so I wasn't worried about a different mix. Geo showed me how to use a clay bar - which I feel like a complete dumbass not knowing the magic of those things before. I used some Rustoleum wax and tar remover as lubrication and took off a bunch of overspray that was on the hood after some ...

I took my wheels apart and separated my rock rings so I could smooth them out. Previous owner used them like they were stolen and then played chicken with a K-rail. The scratches/dings/cuts caused the paint to start flaking off. So I used a wire wheel on my grinder to get rid of all the paint. I then used an 80 grit flap wheel to smooth out most of the dings/cuts. It looks pretty good like that but if you get up close you can still see the small grinding lines. Is there something for the ...

I wanted my CB out of the way, but still easily removeable. So after much deliberation and drinking of Rum, here's what I wound up with...

This is an old Cobra 29ltd Harley Davidson edition that I bought back years ago and mothballed after selling the CJ I had it in.

Ran the power from the battery and mounted the unit on top of the sound bar on the passenger side. Installed a speaker on the drivers side by cutting a space out in the foam padding ...

How this got started:

I wanted a cage for my last JK but put it was pretty far down on the list thinking..."I'll never need that but it sure does look cool."

I nodded off going home and hit a guardrail at close to 70mph. This is why I have an OR-Fab sport cage now. The company doesn't claim it can save anyone in a rollover, but I know this is better than what you have from the factory. The windshield is not strong enough to support anything but ...

Got this idea from another site but it works well. I simply made spacers (7 total) from 1" X 1/4" bar stock 3' long ($8.00) from Lowes. You install the spacers under the seat brackets so the bottoms lift up in the front and the backs tilt back just a little. It really doesn't look like much, but the difference is very noticeable. If you have spent any time in the back you would know the seats sit too straight up to be comfortable on longer trips. I was asked if you could just put ...

ESP tries to correct for you using the brakes to keep you pointed in the right direction and not turn over. The traction control system doesn't want your wheels to spin, so it cuts power, applies brakes to keep that from happening. BLD, (brake lock differential,) doesn't care if the wheels are spinning, just as long as they are ...
